This is the solution that I found to handfeeding. I was having quite a problem with it because the syringe just didn't seem to satisfy Buddy. I don't know if I just did it different than the breeder or what, but whatever the case, it just wasn't working. The breeder said Buddy would do fine with a spoon...but that just wasn't working either. It was so messy....I decided there just HAD to be a better way...I started digging through drawers when I spotted the old medicine spoon that you use to give toddlers medicine...."YES! This should do the trick!" I tried it and we had great success. Its still messy but this is so much better than the way it was going before and not knowing if he was getting any in him or not. Now I know...he is taking 3 - 4 spoonfuls during a good feeding. He is starting to wean himself and is eating lots of other good foods so I am not too worried anymore. ;)

These are from when I first got Buddy...he was 7 - 8 weeks here...

We've named our little green baby, Buddy. He is such a doll! He is now on 2 handfeedings a day...his choice. He loves to be held and talked to. He took his first flight yesterday...only about a foot off the ground, but he FLEW! Here are a few pics of him now...he is 8 weeks old. (4-25-99)
